SURICATE

The Suricata worship a Chieftess that they believe created the Earth solely for her people to dig into it and live. When the Seraphs created life, the Suricata were not safe above ground, and could not fly or seek water to live. They were blind and had soft nubs on all their paws, and with a violent storm threatening in the distance, they were sure to die. The Chieftess made the world into dirt and sand, and gave them claws so that the Suricata could dig and reign below the surface. The Chieftess does not take a corporeal form often, and when she does it is in times of great need for the Suricate race. Her form is enormous, and she is easily the largest of all Gods. She has massive claws, small eyes, and a mouth that could swallow the universe. But despite this, Suricata regard her as their great mother, and look to her for guidance towards becoming peaceful and wise. The Chieftess also has an extremely long tail, that they say grew longer and longer as she tunneled. Deep chasms in the desert were carved from her claws, and myth says that the deepest chasm of all is her home, and to go inside without the blessing of a Suricate form will summon her to destroy you.

The Suricate is the first species to arrive on the new world! Naturally, it has the tendencies of all species, notably the canis and felis. Suricate pride survival over most things, giving up food and comfort to avoid being eaten by other species.
In mobs, Suricates band together and the safety of the pups and leaders is top priority. The leader is primarily female, and her group is made up of children, siblings and sometimes outsiders. It's not uncommon to see a mob of complete strangers however, as banding together is a smart strategy for survival.

Loners are not uncommon, but unlike the mobs, they only prioritize themselves and will often scavenge resources from mobs and other loners they could potentially overpower. Loners may even attempt to pass as small felis & canis, and those who are successful may not live long after to tell the tale.

Warring between Suricates is done primary on Suricate ground, to prevent intervention from other species looking for an easy meal. Suricate leaders often meet in secret and do what they can to prevent things without bloodshed, but rogue groups that do not follow the teachings of the Chieftess can be adamant on violence.

Suricate caste systems usually consist of two leaders that may or may not be a mating pair. When at their den, the mob is fairly equal- all are eating, foraging close by, grooming, trading resources, and watching the pups. When it is time to forage however, the leaders take a group of designated foragers and guards. The foragers gather food for themselves and others, while the guards keep watch of rival suricates, strangers, and predators. Pups ready to learn to hunt may join them, but often the weaker pups will stay at the den under the protective care of nursing suricates.

Like the Canis, Suricate will often wear their kill, and the trinkets, pelts and overall designs of the leaders is expected of the rest. If one leader wears flowers, and the other wears bones, the followers are expected to wear either flowers or bones in a similar but non-excessive fashion. In rogue groups, this set up is uncommon, each member dressing in whatever they desire.
Suricate's cannibalizing and wearing the skin of another is not heavily uncommon. While strangers can be quite friendly with one another, a fight to the death with warring territories is common- and even within family systems. A Suricate wearing the pelt of another can be out of revenge or respect. It's not uncommon to see a young Suricate wear the pelt of their passed family members.

- Raisin, who is a strong entity capable of shape-shifting, prefers to take on a Suricate form.
- Suricates have the best stamina, capable of running for extended amounts of time.
- Though the Suricate is based on the mongoose, they are often colloquially called "Meerkats"

FELIS

Felis are lead by a true King: The Prideweaver. In the time of the creation of Felis and Canis, the Prideweaver was disgusted with the ways of the vicious and lowly Omni-Alpha. He found killing for sport to be wrong, and his teachings reflected gratitude and humility as his primary lessons. He blessed his followers- the Felis, with retractable claws and shorter fur to appear proud and powerful, but gentle. The Prideweaver is white furred and adorned with a myriad of gold markings that shimmer like water in the light. His glorious mane is thick, and children would braid it if he let them, and he wears these braids proudly.

Naturally, the Prideweaver’s mane and tail grow fauna, and some say he gives these to the families of prey that his kind have killed. Felis are prohibited to wear their kill in most prides, but no Felis is allowed to kill a Raptor else face outcasting, or in some cases, death. This is because the Prideweaver and the Sun and Moon Phoenix  protected one another during the First War- creating an eternity long alliance between species. Raptor have been known to feed in areas where prides are numerous, since the threat of being attacked by other species is greatly limited when at the mercy of many protective Felis.

Though the Felis and Canis have many differences, The Omni-Alpha and Prideweaver have never been in physical combat- and the outcome is always widely debated between all species, the outcome being 50/50.

Felis live together in familial prides traditionally. The Prides are run by a matriarchy or patriarchy, and these leaders are considered real royalty and highly respected in the eyes of the Prideweaver. Like the Carnasin packs, these are Carnasin prides. Hunting is done together, but wearing kill is often prohibited. Normally, the garb worn by the Majesty is what is expected of the rest of the pride. If the Majesty wears pelt, then it is expected to be acceptable for the rest to do so as well. Young and Elderly Felis often go bare.

Predasin prides, unlike Detrisin prides, are severely outcasted and hated by both the other groups. Predasin prides will often band together with other species, but never with other Predasin Canis packs. Predasin prides eat other Felis and feline-like specie, and often have no concern for the eternal alliance with Raptors and will hunt them for sport.

Detrisin prides are prides that eat fish, insects, and fruits. Detrisin prides are often composed of smaller and leaner Felis, as a larger lion-like Felis cannot sustain a diet without intervention. Detrisin are not only Detrisin for the sake of preserving other species, but it is considered a path to enlightenment by the Prideweaver. Detrisin diet is also coupled with pacifism, and desire to be blessed by the element of Nature.  Often times, a Felis blessed with the element of Nature that isn't already a Detrisin will become one. Carnasin prides will protect Detrisins where they can, but Detrisin prides tend to travel frequently, never staying in one place for too long- and will revisit their home prides when they return from their travels.

CANIS

The Cheiftess of Suricates had only created one group of creatures fit enough to learn the teachings of the Felis and Canis. But these two would not share, and seperated the group for themselves.

The Canis believe in the Omni-Alpha, an Alpha among all Alpha that helped seperate the Canis from the Felis in the time of the First War. He blessed them with permanent claws and thick fur, so that they were born killers and the scent of blood would always be stained into their coats. Hunting and war were his ambitions, and he donned heavy black armor to present his passion for death. When the physical form of a deity is damaged, normally the God leaves the form and let's it die, to reincarnate into a more powerful form. However, the Omni Alpha has never changed form, and always reincarnates with the same battle scars that they have left with. It's rumoured that Omni-Alpha cannot suffer to the point of needing to leave their physical form at the hands of anyone else, and in order to reincarnate- Omni-Alpha kills himself.

Despite the Omni-Alpha’s strong principles, he was very sociable and promoted the importance of friends and family. Without his first pack, he recants that he would be nothing- and that his strength comes from the love and loyalty of his pack.

Traditions are a powerful catalyst of Felis and Canis pride/pack life- and the traditions of the Omni-Alpha are held with great regard. Within a pack, adulthood is recognized by a pup's first kill, and the more strength a prey took to be killed, the more valuable it is to wear within a pride. Any and all species of animals are accepted garb - the bigger, the better - except for other Canis. A Canis who wears plants, the skin of other Canis, or refuses to wear their kill are often exiled from the Wolf Islands where the Canis reside.

Traditional groups consist of Alpha, Beta, Delta and Omega, and are normally composed of family members referred to as Carnasin. Carnasin can contain non-familial wolves, and often times a Carnasin family openly adopts others into their pack.

Non-traditional groups are quite common, despite the threat of Omni-Alpha reincarnating and destroying them always looming in the wind. Two main groups of these outsiders exist and are often at war with traditional groups: Predasin and Detrisin.

Predasin are cannibalistic wolf packs that are often run by a matriarchy/patriarchy. Familial groups tend to run with the

Alpha/Beta/Delta/Omega system, but it's uncommon. Predasin wear the parts of other Canis, and adulthood is determined by the first Canis or canine-like specie killed and eaten by the pup, including ones own siblings. Sacrifice for consumption of pack-mates is a ritual for passing to the next life, and considered to be an honor among familial Predasin groups. A wolf that a predasin group would not want to eat, is considered to be highly disgraceful.

Detrisin are considered to be the "worst" types of Canis, hated by both the Carnasin and Predasin equally. Detrisin packs are normally non-familial, but small family packs have been observed. Detrisin believe in honor for oneself and acknowledgement of the life around you- thus they feed on fish, fruits and insects exclusively. Detrisin do not wear any dead animal, aside from the bones of fish, and decorate with grasses and flowers.

Detrisin packs do not normally run in an Alpha/Beta/Delta/Omega system, and instead opt for an council-like system, where each pack of Detrisins band together and their designated spokes-canis for the meeting will talk with the others to discuss major changes in the way things are run, whether to avoid or war with Carnasin or Predasin, and often times alliancing with a Felis Pride, as they have similar ideals and the peaceful nature of the Detrisins are welcome by the Prideweaver.

RAPTOR

The Phoenix of All Time created creatures called Raptors who were weak to the Suricates who were vicious and hungry. The raptors were naked, without claws and without fangs. The Phoenix of All Time cut into herself, her blood giving the Raptors feathers, talons and beaks. Despite this the Suricates would still hunt and kill the Raptors, so the Phoenix of All Time cut herself deeper, creating the sky and giving the Raptors the ability to fly into it. The Phoenix of All Time had cut herself so deep she had cut herself in half, and became two- the Sun Phoenix and the Moon Phoenix. The Moon Phoenix would work to make the sky dark and put all creatures to sleep, so that the Raptors would always have the energy during the day to fly. The Sun Phoenix’s light made the trees grow taller, so that the Raptors could always hide amongst them.

The Moon Phoenix was sad to see his people hide in the trees, and attacked the Sun Phoenix for his powers to control all and force the Suricates to hide instead, He wanted the Raptors to become the ultimate beings, feared by all the species. The Sun Phoenix believed the Raptors would be hated if this came true, and believed that balance must be kept. The Moon Phoenix would not be reasoned with, and so the Sun Phoenix killed her brother- and from his ashes formed the Moon, which would hang in the sky every night as a reminder of his love for his Raptors. The Sun Phoenix was distraught, and killed herself to make the Sun, so that she would be with her brother forever in the sky they had made, and still protect their children.

Raptors do not often socialize with one another off of the Floating Islands, and if they do it is most likely for survival reasons. The first Raptors were scavengers and this made them naturally solitary. Raptors band together with family, and some may have a more proactive relationship, a larger Raptor protecting a smaller one from other predators, and the smaller one using it's agility to gather food quicker.

Raptors primarily pick on the Suricates, them being the only species in which the adults are also susceptible of being carried off as food. Suricate and Raptor relationships are naturally very harmful, but in areas where the Raptor and Suricate have a common enemy, the two often work together to defend the territory, feeding and sharing bugs and other small animals.

In a non-family caste, Raptors designate the strongest bird as the leader- a leadership which is always threatened by other Raptors entering territory. This lead bird protects the nests, and doesn't actually do any hunting, only using their strength to protect the flock. The rest of the group is made up of significantly weaker birds who won't pose a threat to the leader. The leader also manages births within the group, and will toss out weak or "possible threat" hatchlings frequently.

Raptor garb is often made of small bones and leaves. Raptors with a bad sense of flight will often wear garb that helps them camoflague, while a strong flier will wear something light but proud. Raptors that wear garb made of other raptors are to be avoided, and if a flock is unfortunate to end up with one of these raptors as a leader, it can only end badly.

Non-carnivorous raptor garb is usually an amalgation of brightly colored feathers from other birds, or trinkets that shimmer and shine. While carnivorous raptors may wear this around mating season, it is typically a bug-eating raptor garb, to show to land-walkers that they are kind, not a threat, and want to be seen.

- Raptors are based on falcons and eagles, but can resemble corvids and vultures.
- Raptors also have the most unique locomotion mechanics in the game, their ability to fly changing how one gets around by quite a lot.
- Though some Gods may have wings, no other mortal beast is capable of having fully fea
thered and flight-capable wings.- It isn't particularly strange to use Raptors as a form of travel as far as land-dwelling species are concerned.
